Frequently asked questions

How do I rotate a PDF online for free?

Choose your PDF, pick the rotation you want, then click Rotate PDF. Download the corrected file when it’s ready. It’s free, with no sign-up.

Can I save the rotated PDF permanently?

Yes. The tool saves the new rotation into the file, so the pages stay rotated when you open it in any PDF viewer, on any device. Rotating a page in your viewer’s menu often only changes how you see it for that session.

What rotation options are available?

You can turn the pages 90° clockwise, 180° (upside down) or 90° counter-clockwise. Choose the one that puts your pages the right way up.

Can I rotate only one page of my PDF?

Not yet. This tool rotates every page in the file by the same amount. If only some pages are sideways, you can split those pages out with our Split PDF tool, rotate them, then join everything again with Merge PDF.

How do I fix a sideways scanned document?

Choose the rotation that turns the page upright. Scanned pages are often sideways by 90°, so try clockwise first, and if it looks wrong, run the tool again on the original file with the other direction.

Will rotating my PDF reduce its quality?

No. Pages are only turned, not re-compressed, so text, images and file size stay the same.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The rotation happens in your browser, so your file stays on your device and is never sent to our server.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. It works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, tablets and computers.

Is there a limit on file size or number of pages?

There’s no fixed limit. Very large PDFs may take longer, depending on your device’s memory and speed.

Why did my rotated PDF look wrong in some apps?

Rare files have unusual page settings that some viewers display differently. Open the result in a different PDF viewer or your browser to check, and run the tool again on your original file if the result isn’t right.
