Frequently asked questions

How do I split a PDF online for free?

Choose your PDF, type the pages you want to keep, such as 1-3, 5, 8-10, then click Extract pages. Download the new file when it’s ready. It’s free, with no sign-up.

How do I extract specific pages from a PDF?

Enter the page numbers you need, separated by commas. For a run of pages, use a dash, for example 4-7. You get a new PDF with only those pages, in the order you typed them.

Can I choose pages that are not next to each other?

Yes. Type them with commas, for example 1, 4, 9-12, and they’ll be combined into one new PDF.

Does splitting change or delete my original PDF?

No. Your original file stays exactly as it is, and you get a separate new file with the pages you chose.

Can I split a PDF into several separate files at once?

Not in one go. The tool creates one new PDF from the pages you choose. To make more files, run it again on the original with different pages each time.

How do I remove pages from a PDF?

Enter all the pages you want to keep and leave out the ones you want to delete. For a 10-page file, typing 1-4, 6-10 removes page 5.

What happens if I enter a page that doesn’t exist?

The tool shows a message asking you to use page numbers within the document, for example between 1 and 10 for a 10-page file. Check the page count in your PDF viewer first.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The splitting happens in your browser, so your file stays on your device and is never sent to our server.

Does splitting reduce the quality of my pages?

No. Pages are copied as they are, so text, images and layout stay the same.

Does it work on a phone, and is there a file size limit?

Yes, it works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, tablets and computers. There’s no fixed limit, but very large PDFs may be slow, depending on your device’s memory.
