So, I have already given you a glance at the best domain registrar to choose from the list.
However, if you would like to know what important factors I have considered to compile the list of best domain name registrars that are available across the world. You must continue reading.
How to choose the Domain Name Registrar?
We all know most domain registrars do not have the proper license to sell the entire domain name extensions.
A few domain registrars have the privilege to sell only their country-specific domain name extensions.
Extensions Such as – .ly, .in, or .io.
Every domain registrar provides various services and offers along with their domain name registration.
Some domain registrars may provide free add-ons to impress their customers while others offer a very cheap domain name itself.
Before purchasing your domain with any best domain name registrars you think of, you need to ensure the below-provided criteria:
1. Domain Transfers
It is very much possible to move the Domain names from the existing domain registrar to another one.
By default, it is not required to transfer your domain name from the existing domain registrar.
If you are still unhappy then you can easily transfer your domain name to another one.
However, it is not possible to transfer the domain name within the initial 60 days from your registration date.
ICANN has decided on the initial period and after that, you can transfer your domain name to any of your preferred registrars.
A few domain registrars will not charge any extra fee for transferring their domain names while others may charge or make it complicated.
You need to review the Domain transfer policy and then move on with the domain transfer option before purchasing the domain name from the respective domain registrar.
2. Add-on Services
It is also essential to check or review about the value-added or add-on features offered by the Domain Name registrar.
You need to ensure that your requirements and other services are offered by the registrar and choose the best registrar to purchase your domain name.
The other add-on services such as extended expiration protection, domain parking, domain privacy, and many more.
A few domain name registrars may also sell email hosting services, WordPress hosting services, and much more for their users.
3. Pricing and Registration Period
The most important criteria before purchasing the domain name are to check the domain name’s registration period and its corresponding pricing.
Most of the domain registrars will offer cheap or low prices only for the first year registration however; the renewal price may vary depending upon their decision.
The domain name can be registered with a minimum period of 1-year. However, a few registrars may require a minimum of 2 years of the registration period.
You can register your preferred domain name for a maximum of 10 years at a time. In case you think of purchasing a new web address then it is required to register your preferred domain name for at least 1 year.
If you opt for an automatic renewal process then your domain name will not expire. Also, please check and confirm whether there are any additional charges for renewal, domain transfers, and other fees.
4. Domain Expiration Policies
Only for a specific period, you can register your domain names. Within the expiration date, it is mandatory to renew your domain name registration.
In case if you fail to renew your domain name within the expiration period then it will automatically expire and the next user can pick the same.
Especially for a business, it is much easier for someone to take your preferred domain name. To overcome this situation, you can enable the automatic renewal feature for your domain name.
Even after enabling the automatic renewal option, it is advisable to check the expiration policy of your domain registrars.
A few of them also provide a grace period for the users to renew after the expiration period. Even the expired domain name can be renewed within the grace period.
Some of them failed to remember their renewal date or might be with the credit card processing issue.
To resolve this problem, you can check for the best domain name registrar who offers various features to its users.
Important things to consider before buying a Domain
Within this competitive world, most domain registrars come with various attractive promotions and offers to their customers.
However, it may be good for many users but still, there are unnoticed things that you need to consider before purchasing the domain names.
You can find below the provided things to consider before
selecting the appropriate domain name registrar:
5. Hidden Fees
Before choosing your preferred domain name registrar, you need to check regarding the hidden fees and costs.
A few domain registrars may provide you with a special offer even for a cheaper domain for your first-year registrations.
But the renewal fee might be much higher and quite different from the plan. Also, it is easier to transfer your existing domain name to another company with an additional hidden fee.
6. Bad User Experience
Most of the domain name registrars design their websites with easy navigation to retain their customers, while some of them are in a different direction. This may lead you to experience difficulty in modifying your existing domain name settings.
This is mandatory for changing or transferring the domain to a new registrar or a new host.
It is advisable to check the online reviews for each domain registrar before choosing the required one. Ensure that only a few happy customers may provide their real-time experience as reviews for other user’s benefit.
7. Add-on Pricing
A few domain name registrars will automatically provide various add-on services while purchasing the domain name.
If you have not double-checked the enabled add-on services then it could be possible to increase your bill payment.
For example, the .com domain name will cost around $15 per year and in case if it exceeds the price value then you should raise a red flag.
Ensure the total bill value on the checkout page and also uncheck if you do not prefer any add-on services to avoid overbilling.
You can also double-check the paid amount on the website and as well as on your credit card statements.
Final Words on Perfect Domain Registrar
Now, reading the overall guide, you might have already made up your mind. While buying a domain make things simple and prefer your brand name to be with the right registrar.
If still, you want me to make it loud and clear, which domain registrar to go with. My first preference is always NameCheap, though always check from the above domain registrar list too.
However, if you are completely new and want to get a hosting account and domain for free, then Bluehost can be also one of the great options.
Which domain registrar do you prefer?

That’s a massive list brother. I have tried so far GoDaddy, NameCheap, NameSilo. One thing I have realized is that to manage domain easily it is better to stick with one platform only. As overall you may not save huge on domains.
I generally stick with GoDaddy only and whenever I buy a domain, I always go for 2 years as GoDaddy give a good offer on 2-year purchase. I bought one domain with NameCheap and I found they are comparatively cheaper and also provide FREE domain privacy, which is good.

Hello Navin Sir … From some days I am Planning to Changing Domain Registrar..And see This Article helps me for choosing Best Registrar..Thank You Sir
Great article Navin. Actually, I run through some issues when I couldn’t migrate my new domain name into Siteground. The thing is, I bought that domain name from Domain company. I was really fed up and was about to request a refund. However, when I talked to the customer service in order to get a refund and look for another way, they were very kind ant talked me out of it. They simply migrated the domain name to Siteground, and then I got my website up and running.
Thank you for this article, good stuff !!

Hello Friend Navin,
This is so informative. I was looking for more blogs talking about purchasing the domain. I read Namecheap gives privacy protection for free when we buy a domain.
But if we are looking for domain auction then purchasing a domain from GoDaddy and selling it on auction becomes easier. So I was thinking if we buy a domain from any other domain provider then can we sell It on GoDaddy auction or not?
Please guide us through your blog about domain reselling also. I want to buy domains and resell them. Looking for some expert guidance. 🙂
Hello Navin,
Nice list. Earlier I made a few mistakes of buying a domain from my hosting provider which may cause an issue in the future. However, now I buy all my domains from domain registrars like Godaddy and Namecheap.
Hi Navin
I started blogging 5 months back and at that time I opted for Bluehost with a free domain name as recommended by someone.
Within these 5 months, I came to know about more and more service providers.
You have concluded a good list domain registrar.

Hey, Navin Bro!
I use NameCheap for buying domains, in starting I used GoDaddy but because of their high renewal fees. I moved all my domains from GoDaddy to NameCheap at a cheap rate.
Namecheap is the cheap domain register and its renewal charges are quite good.
Thanks,
Ravi Dixit

Hey Navin,
How can I not agree with you that every blogger must read domain registrars. No one is born with full knowledge of all things.
Who wouldn’t get confused when you have so many choices of domains. You and me can define and understand each of them because we have been in this field for a while now.
There is no doubt that this kind of guide is needed by a beginner. My first preference among these are GoDaddy and Namecheap.
This post is well-written and it is pretty simple to understand. Keep up the good work, Navin.
Best wishes,
Anil Agarwal
GoDaddy is Best…
I’m using his domain
Thanks for sharing your favorite one!
You have mentioned resourceful content on your platform to buy domains. Personally, use Go Daddy. The more important thing is getting a hosting service from a company that gives you 24/7 service to keep your website up to date. Great Work!
Regards,
Great article Navin Bro, I totally agry with your suggestion about GoDaddy. generally I used godaddy and namecheap both are good. but some time namecheap create problem while you pay with your debit card. so in this case, godaddy is the number one choice for Indian users.
Hello Navin, this is my first time on question cage and I must confess; you served me with a very informative post.
I’ve been looking for a way round go get the best hosting I can trust to run my multi traffic website because my first blog went down the rail because of issue I had with a hosting company.
Thanks for listing the best places to buy domain names.
Hello Naveen,
First of all, great post — I must say.
As far as your question is concerned, I also prefer Namecheap. They have been quite okay when it comes to domain registration.
I’ve registered domains with Godaddy and Name.com as well, but I prefer Namecheap. Perhaps because I never ran into any problem while using their service.
Did you also find Namecheap reliable? I certainly did.
Absolutely Hassaan! I register a lot of domains, for my self and for my clients on multiple domain registrars. And I should admit that the majority of domain are on NameCheap because of the service and moreover renewal charges are quite better.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, keeping landing at QC. 🙂 have a great day!

On a side note, I didn’t know that you could buy a domain name through Google.
Interesting; very interesting…
Thanks Navin,
For publishing amazing list of domain registrars. I personally use NameCheap, Godaddy and Dynadot for registering domain names.
Thanks a lot for sharing such a useful guide. Keep sharing awesome posts and educate beginners through your blog.
Great article, Naveen!
You explained each and every domain registrar well you mentioned. It lets them which one is perfect for them.
I would like to add another few to the list..Namecheap, domain racer, Shopify, and dream host.
All the best!
Loved this information
Thanks Navin sir
Great article Navin Rao, and very informative. Personally, I would not touch GoDaddy.
Too aggressive for me. I like Enom and 1 & 1, as they treated me well always.
You did not mention my very favorite, and who I use now for 90% of my domains. Namecheap.com.
I prefer to use a registrar who focuses only on registering domain names. Their prices are fair, and their support is better than anyone I’ve dealt with. WhoIs privacy is free too. Check it out. Keep up the good work.
Hello Navin,
Great List of sites for registering a domain name. I personally use Namecheap to buy domains online.
Their prices are very reasonable and competitive too. Support is also great if you need any help. I highly recommend others to use them to book domains online. Thanks for sharing this awesome list.
